Statistics: 11 months of 2017

In January – November, 2017 the number of international arrivals in Georgia amounted to 6,954,932, showing an increase of 18.4% compared to the same period of previous year. Out of the total number of visits, 3,243,963 lasted longer than 24 hours (+ 27.6%). The majority of foreign travelers were from Azerbaijan (+10.9%), Armenia (+14.9%), Russia (+33.4%), Turkey (-3.2%)  and Iran (+121.1%).

A positive trend in arrivals was also observed among citizens of the European Union countries. A notable increase was registered of British +39.7%, Austrian +35.6%, Dutchman +32.7%, Spanish +30.5%, French +29.7% and German +27.4% travelers. Exceptional growth in arrivals was recorded of citizens of the following countries: Jordan + 327.2%, Saudi Arabia +165.7%, Kuwait +152.4%, Iran +121.1%, India +66.6%, Uzbekistan +57.9%, China +53.2% and USA +24.2.

During the period of January – November, 162 countries recorded an increase in the number of international arrivals, which in figures amounted to 1,123,786. Top eleven countries showing increase of more than 10,000 international arrivals registered cumulative increase amounting to 985,591 (88% of total increase).

In November, 2017 the number of international arrivals in Georgia amounted 524,108, representing a 14.1% increase over the same period of 2016. In November, the majority of travelers were citizens of the following countries: Armenia (+7.2%), Azerbaijan (+11.2%), Turkey (+6.8%), Russia (+35.5%)  and Iran (+9.5%). Out of the total number of visits, 201,056 lasted longer than 24 hours (increase +21.8%). A positive trend was also maintained of the nationalities of the European Union countries. Notable increase was registered of British +34.5%, French +18.5% and Italian +14.8% travelers. Exceptional growth in arrivals was recorded of citizens of the following countries: Iran +92.5%, Israel +42.3%, Belarus +41.5%, India +40.6%, Russia +35.2% and USA +19.3%.

During this period, 116 countries recorded an increase in the number of international arrivals, which in total amounted to 67,654. Top seven countries showing increase of more than 1,000 international arrivals registered cumulative increase amounting to 60,461 (89% of total increase).
